Today, increased environmental awareness and safety sensitivity characterize people's handling with radioactivity. Wherever radioactive sources are handled or radioactivity has to be detected and to be measured, dosemeters and dose rate meters are used.

For 60 years GRAETZ is designing, manufacturing and marketing portable, battery operated dose rate measuring and alarm devices as well as dosemeter and alarm devices for the measurement and detection of alpha, beta and gamma radiation for the personal radiation protection.

Our product range includes instruments for

• civil defence / disaster control
• nuclear medicine
• authorities (such as factory inspectorates, environmental authorities)
• research and industry (such as mining, refineries, chemical industry, petrochemistry, steel industry, Off-shore)

• special customer requirements (e.g. for military purposes).

With regard to radiation measuring instruments for military use we are for many years successfully cooperating with Messrs. BRUKER Daltonics.

We have a calibration installation for radiation measuring instruments in our works, equipped with several radiation sources up to 16,7 TBq (450 Ci) ¹³⁷Cs to calibrate our products as well as a special department for repairing radioactively contaminated instruments - both officially licenced.

Since September 1995, we introduced a quality management system acc. to DIN EN ISO 9001, which has been certified acc. to DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2000 in July 2003 and acc. to DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2008 in July 2009. We are also working with a quality system acc. to NATO requirements (AQAP 2130). In 2004, the ATEX certification (EC-type examination for equipment and components intended for the use in potentially explosive atmospheres) acc. to EN 13980 (directive 94/9/EC) has been achieved.
